Fine Line® Buckthorn
Fine Line® Buckthorn
Features
As an expert in the field, I can confidently introduce you to Rhamnus frangula 'Fine Line®', a cultivar of the common buckthorn. This deciduous shrub is native to Europe, northwest Africa, and western Asia, making it a valuable addition to any landscape.
Average size
At maturity, this variety of Rhamnus frangula can reach a height of 5-7 feet and has a spread of 2-3 feet.
Planting
To prepare for planting, add organic matter, like compost, to the soil to enhance drainage and fertility. Clean the planting area of any weeds or debris. Dig a hole slightly larger than the plant's root ball, with a depth equal to the height of the root ball. Gently loosen the roots after removing the plant from its container. Place the plant in the center of the hole, at the same depth as it was in the container. Carefully backfill the hole with soil, gently packing it around the roots as you go. After planting, thoroughly water the shrub to settle the soil and remove any air pockets around the roots. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the first growing season, but don't overwater..
