Planting a
Prepare the soil to be well-draining. While the Lodense privet can withstand various soil types, it thrives best in moist, yet well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is twice the width of the root ball and the same depth. Break up and improve the soil in the planting hole by adding organic matter like compost if the soil is of poor or compacted quality. Carefully remove the Ligustrum vulgare 'Lodense' from its container by gently squeezing or tapping its sides. Avoid pulling on the stem, as this could damage the roots. Place the plant in the center of the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Fill the hole with soil, gently packing it around the roots to eliminate any pockets of air. Water thoroughly to allow the soil to settle.
